Proceedings Archiving and Indexing Policy
Web of Science Indexation and Journal Impact Factor
Journal Impact factors (JIFs) are assigned by Clarivate to journals indexed within Web of Science Core Collection. This collection comprises four primary journal citation indexes: Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Emerging sources citation index (ESCI), Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). Only journals included in one of these four indexes are eligible to receive a Journal Impact Factor.
Conference series titles, however, are indexed separately within the Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI). Unlike the core journal indexes, titles included in this index are not eligible to receive a Journal Impact Factor.
Furthermore, CPCI evaluates content at the individual conference proceedings volume level, rather than at the overall title or series level. This means that each published conference volume must be assessed independently for inclusion. IOP Publishing (IOPP) makes every reasonable effort to support the successful inclusion of its conference proceedings volumes in CPCI. This includes providing clear guidance and best practice recommendations to conference organisers, with the aim of maximising the likelihood of successful indexing for each volume.
Web of Science can take up to 6 months to evaluate individual volumes for inclusion into the CPCI. Web of Science does not accept requests expedited evaluation or rejection rebuttals from any party.

Preservation Policy
IOP Publishing produces high-value scientific information for the scholarly community and as all of our content is published online, we are acutely aware of the need to ensure permanent availability of, and access to, these resources. We therefore have an archiving policy in place through which we are committed to preserving our online content in archiving services.
All IOP Publishing online journals and conference series are archived in CLOCKSS and Portico to ensure that these resources are preserved in the long term.
Where are conference proceedings abstracted?
IOP Publishing works with all major abstracting and indexing (A&I) services to facilitate the ongoing discoverability of all published content. However please be aware that each A&I service applies its own editorial policy to content supplied for indexing. While IOP Publishing will make every reasonable effort to comply with the requirements of our A&I partners, we are unable to guarantee content will be indexed in any particular database, neither are we able to guarantee indexing in a particular time frame.
