Felix did his PhD at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He was awarded the Otto-Hahn medal of the Max-Planck-Society in 2013 and his thesis selected as distinguished Springer Thesis. He stayed at Chalmers University, Sweden, and joined the Max-Planck-Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems as Distinguished Fellow in September 2016.
